  25. Installation
  26. -------------
  27. To install Visible::Source, simply copy the files in this package to a 
  28. directory/folder of your choosing; we suggest creating a new directory/
  29. folder named VSRC.  The Visible::Source package should be placed in a 
  30. directory/folder of its own (rather than being commingled with other 
  31. files or programs in the same directory/folder).  (If you already have an 
  32. IDAPI configuration installed on the system, you need not copy over the 
  33. .dll files in this package.)
  34.  
  35. You may then launch the program from File Manager or Explorer by 
  36. double-clicking on VSRC.EXE.  You may also create a new program item/
  37. shortcut for Visible::Source in any desired program group or folder, 
  38. specifying the pathname to VSRC.EXE as the command line, as well as 
  39. indicating the same directory as the working directory (required in 
  40. Windows 3.1).  The program's icon is contained within VSRC.EXE and may 
  41. be specified as the displayed icon.  You may then, in Windows 3.1, 
  42. double-click on the program's icon to launch Visible::Source; in Windows 
  43. 95, simply select the Start menu item for Visible::Source, or launch from 
  44. the appropriate folder.

  47. In Windows 95, to add this program to your Start Menu:
  48.     1. Click on Start.
  49.     2. Move the mouse pointer up to Settings.
  50.     3. Click on Taskbar...
  51.     4. Select the 'Start Menu Programs' tab.
  52.     5. Click on Add.
  53.     6. Click on Browse, then navigate to the application's executable
  54.          file, VSRC.EXE, by first double-clicking to the folder or
  55.          sub-folder in which it exists.  Select VSRC.EXE.  Click on Open.
  56.     7. Now the Command line shows the path to the Visible::Source
  57.          executable file.  Click on Next.
  58.     8. Choose a folder in which the shortcut to the program will
  59.          appear (or select New Folder if one is desired).
  60.     9. Click on Next.
  61.    10. At the prompt 'Select a name for the shortcut,' type in
  62.          "VSRC."
  63.    11. Click on Finish.  This returns you to the Taskbar Properties
  64.          window.  Click on OK.

  67. The Help button on the main screen loads the Contents page of Help; 
  68. pressing <F1> while the focus is on other components usually provides
  69. context-sensitive help.  On the Contents page, you may click on an item
  70. to go directly to that topic, or click the >> (Next) button to browse
  71. through the topics in sequence.

  73. You may also open the included VSRC.WRI file in Windows 3.1 Write or
  74. Windows 95 WordPad (or any Windows word processor that can read the Write 
  75. file format, such as Microsoft Word) and print (or view) a formatted
  76. version of the complete documentation from that program.

  119. A companion product, Visible::Source32 for 32-bit Windows is also available 
  120. from RCCO Research in a 32-bit edition.  It is similar to, but not exactly 
  121. like, the present 16-bit edition entitled Visible::Source for Windows (v3.1 
  122. or greater).  The two editions have different registration fees, due to the 
  123. program sizes and number of disks involved for each.  The respective 
  124. version numbers may also differ and should not be considered relative to 
  125. the other edition.
